#BournemouthEats Food Social at Brewhouse & Kitchen
I was absolutely delighted to be invited along to the #BournemouthEats Food Social at the Brewhouse & Kitchen on the 30th November by the lovely Laura a.k.a @BournemouthEats on Instagram…
The event was in association with Darren Northeast PR and was held at the Brewhouse & Kitchen Microbrewery & Pub, which is located in ‘The Triangle’ area of Bournemouth. I had actually enjoyed a delicious meal there with a group of my girlfriends the previous Saturday, so I was definitely looking forward to going back.
First up, there was a fabulous array of delicious canapés set out before us to sample, including the pulled pork pizza…

Turkey, cranberry & stuffing crostinis…

Ardennes pâté on toast, onion jam & IPA pickle…

And veggie samosas with mango chutney dip…

We were then presented with a whole host of main dishes from their menu. Being a microbrewery, they really take advantage of this angle and some of the dishes are made with beer as a component. There are also ‘beer pairing’ suggestions under items on the menu.

Suggested beer pairings were placed around the dishes on offer so we could give them a try. I’m not a beer fan myself unfortunately but there was a peachy-tasting one I really quite liked!
The main dishes that were were able to try included the steak and stout pie…

A whole rack of BBQ sticky ribs, the New Yorker burger and the 10oz 21-day aged rump steak…

And the IPA battered cod & chips.

We were given a little tour of the pub where we were shown the brewing equipment and introduced to Nicolas the Head Brewer, who told us about how all the beer is brewed onsite and how they can make custom brews. Interesting stuff!
We took the opportunity to grab a group shot of us bloggers in the outside area by the beach huts (it was freezing!) 🙂
At the end of the evening, we were given a goodie bag which contained a Brewhouse & Kitchen tankard and a wonderfully packaged bottle opener.

I really enjoyed the event, which was the first proper event set up by Laura @BournemouthEats. So thank you very much to her, Darren Northeast PR and The Brewhouse & Kitchen Bournemouth for hosting us all.
It was great to put a few faces to usernames I follow on Instagram as well – it’s good to know that there are fellow food freaks just like me in my local area! 🙂
